Meet Jessica Brocka

Jessica, the art teacher at Perry Elementary School, applied for a Dallas County Foundation grant in 2019.  Her project request was to update her art room with new storage cabinets for the student to dry and/or store their projects.  Jessica received $$$$ grant funds to complete her project.

Her feedback?

“It looks wonderful in my room!  The new cabinets are clean, function properly and give the room a new look.  They are smaller and make the room feel bigger. Students who had been in my classroom last year noticed the difference right away and commented that the room felt bigger.  They also like that their projects can all safely be stored in a door and not in two locations within the room. Additionally, it provided the needed push for my district to work on updating my classroom.  Over the summer the school also replaced the floor in my room, as well as, painting the walls!”

Jessica also shared with us that she plans on applying for a Dallas County Foundation grant again in the future.  She would like to update the tables and chairs next!
